Golfing in Lake Tahoe
March 24th, 2011
By the time winter ends every golfer in Lake Tahoe is starting to lose their minds. One of my favorite ways to start off the season is to go a little north and play Whitehawk. Every year before Memorial Day they have a deal for $95 you can play all day. I know what some of you are saying, “How much golf can you play in one day”. I myself have played as much as 45 holes in a day. What a great way to kickoff the season. This year I may take my RV up there and stay a few days. There are some great little towns to enjoy a great meal and a cold beer after a long day on the links.
My personal favorite in Tahoe/Truckee is Coyote Moon. A wonderful golf course set in the pristine Sierra Nevada Mountains. Some other great courses have opened up in Truckee over the last several years. Old Greenwood is a Jack Nichlaus course and Grays Crossing which started out private is now open to the public. A little pricey but a great golf course.
Another fun golf attraction in Tahoe is the Tahoe Celebrity Tournament. The largest celebrity tournament in the world I believe. Michael Jordon and Charles Barkley’s hilarious swing.
If you have never come here to play golf I highly recommend it. I will get back to you as soon as I can get out there and swing. I am currently watching it dump snow so I can’t wait.
